Our Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest from Senior Flood Engineer to join our growing Sydney team.

In this role, you will work on a diverse portfolio of flood modelling, stormwater, urban development, and infrastructure projects across Australia. Working closely with the Associate Flood Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, deliver high-quality flood engineering solutions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the successful delivery of innovative and sustainable projects.

At TTW, you'll enjoy modern office facilities, a collaborative and inclusive culture, flexible working arrangements, and the opportunity to work on some of Australia's most exciting engineering projects.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development to engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while exceeding client expectations.
  • Apply advanced engineering expertise to deliver practical, innovative, and commercially effective solutions.
  • Manage the technical, contractual, and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and TTW policies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify business development opportunities and contribute to winning new work and growing existing client relationships.
  • Support workforce planning, resource management, and the implementation of TTW's strategic objectives.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in civil engineering, flood modelling and flood management projects, with exposure to residential subdivision design (earthworks, roads, drainage, water and sewer) highly regarded.
  • Strong technical proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling and GIS workflows, including TUFLOW, RORB/WBNM, HEC-RAS and DRAINS, with stormwater modelling experience desirable.
  • Demonstrated understanding of local government and State approval processes, with sound knowledge of Australian Standards and LGA road and drainage design principles.
  • Proven project and client management capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC/BCA) and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Proven project management skills, including commercial, financial, and resource management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for developing people and building long-term client relationships.
