Our client, a leading company in the cold storage and distribution industry, is seeking experienced and reliable All-Round Storeperson / Freezer Forklift Operator to join their team based in Yennora.
This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced warehouse environment, requiring candidates with previous experience in transport, logistics, warehousing, and freezer operations.
Important: This role requires working in cold and freezer temperature environments. Applicants must be comfortable working in these conditions. If you are unable to work in cold temperatures, please do not apply.
Available Shifts
- Day Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Flexibility between these start times is essential.
- Afternoon Shift: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM.
Overtime and weekend work may be required depending on operational demands. Start times may also vary in line with workload and business requirements.
Pay Rates
- Day Shift: $38.75 per hour + $2.15 freezer allowance.
- Afternoon Shift: $43.40 per hour + $2.15 freezer allowance.
Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Operating high-reach forklifts.
- Operating counterbalance forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
- Performing stock putaways, replenishment, and stock rotation.
- Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Operating pallet-wrapping machines.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Assisting with general warehouse and Storeperson duties.
- Supporting daily warehouse operations as required.
- Performing additional duties in line with operational requirements.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a current LF Forklift Licence.
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar warehousing, transport, logistics, or cold storage role.
- Have proven experience operating high-reach forklifts, including stock putaways.
- Be comfortable working in cold storage and freezer environments.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be physically fit and capable of performing manual handling duties, including heavy lifting where required.
- Have reliable personal transport to and from the workplace.
- Be flexible with shift times, overtime, and occasional weekend work.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Desirable: Previous experience operating Toyota forklifts and familiarity with RF scanning systems.
Pre-Employment Requirements
All successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, conducted by our on-site occupational nurse during the interview stage. This assessment includes a drug and alcohol test.
