A high-profile Federal Government Department is seeking 2 experienced Front-End Software Engineers to develop modern, accessible and user-focused web applications supporting innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and data-driven solutions. You will work within multidisciplinary delivery teams to build intuitive digital experiences for generative AI applications, decision-support tools and advanced analytics platforms. The successful Front-End Software Engineers will be offered initial 12-month contracts with the view to be extended, based in VIC or NSW, with hybrid working arrangements subject to approval.
The successful Front-End Software Engineers will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Design, develop and maintain modern web applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript.

Build responsive, accessible user interfaces for AI-enabled applications, analytical tools and complex workflows.

Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs, cloud services and AI/ML platforms, including real-time and streaming interactions.

Develop reusable components and support automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
The successful Front-End Software Engineers will have experience in the following:

Developing production-ready applications using React, JavaScript and TypeScript.

React component architecture, state management, performance optimisation and front-end testing.

Building accessible, responsive interfaces and integrating REST APIs and asynchronous data services.

Modern software engineering practices, including Git, automated testing, code reviews and CI/CD.
