We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services team. In this role, you will deliver electrical engineering studies, designs, and specifications across a diverse range of infrastructure and building projects. You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing strong technical expertise while supporting project delivery and mentoring junior team members.

This position involves collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and requires solid design capability across electrical services for new construction, upgrades, and modifications, including LV/HV power distribution, lighting, security systems, ICT infrastructure, and renewable energy integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical engineering studies and detailed designs for building and infrastructure projects.
  • Design electrical systems including lighting, LV distribution, ICT infrastructure, security, backup power, and solar PV.
  • Prepare and check electrical design calculations using manual and software tools.
  • Support the development and review of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Contribute to the delivery of electrical work packages within multidisciplinary projects.
  • Manage smaller projects or discrete work packages under senior guidance.
  • Liaise with clients, authorities, and consultants to resolve technical issues.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, and delivery to quality, cost, and time targets.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated design solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Established experience as an electrical engineer within the built environment or infrastructure consultancy sectors.
  • Solid practical and theoretical electrical engineering knowledge.
  • Experience in consulting or commercial project environments.
  • Demonstrated capability in concept and detailed design across a range of electrical systems.
  • Ability to contribute to project delivery within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of technical documentation.
  • Progressing toward Chartered Engineer / CPEng / RPEQ status (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Highly Regarded

  • Experience on Defence or complex infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to proposal support or client engagement activities.
  • Familiarity with project and design coordination processes, including cost and schedule awareness.
