Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and inspection procedures.
  2. Perform routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
  3. Inspect and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and cooling systems.
  4. Remove, repair and replace faulty or worn vehicle components and parts.
  5. Conduct road tests and safety inspections to verify completed repairs.
  6. Perform preventative maintenance to improve vehicle reliability and performance.
  7. Read and interpret repair manuals, service schedules and technical specifications.
  8. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used and work completed.
  9. Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop in accordance with WHS requirements.
  10. Communicate with supervisors and customers regarding vehicle faults, repairs and maintenance requirements.
  11. Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to manufacturer and industry standards.
  12. Assist with fleet servicing, inspections and ongoing vehicle maintenance as required.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Relevant automotive trade qualification with proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
  2. Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
  3. Ability to diagnose and repair engines, brakes, suspension, steering and electrical systems.
  4. Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  6. Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and compliance with automotive industry standards.
