Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and inspection procedures.
- Perform routine vehicle servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs.
- Inspect and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering and cooling systems.
- Remove, repair and replace faulty or worn vehicle components and parts.
- Conduct road tests and safety inspections to verify completed repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance to improve vehicle reliability and performance.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, service schedules and technical specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used and work completed.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop in accordance with WHS requirements.
- Communicate with supervisors and customers regarding vehicle faults, repairs and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Assist with fleet servicing, inspections and ongoing vehicle maintenance as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant automotive trade qualification with proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to diagnose and repair engines, brakes, suspension, steering and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment, hand tools and workshop machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
