Osborne Richardson has teamed up with North Burnett Regional Council to find a Water Industry Engineer to help shape the future of water and wastewater across the region. This is a cracking opportunity to take real ownership of Council's water assets – from the big-picture 10-year investment planning right through to getting projects built on the ground.

Based in the beautiful North Burnett with a hybrid arrangement on offer, you will be the driving force behind keeping the region's water and wastewater services reliable, compliant and ready for what's ahead.

What you will be getting stuck into:

  • Identifying, developing and delivering Council's annual and 10-year investment programs for its water and wastewater assets
  • Analysing system performance, asset management plans and condition assessments to shape future capital and significant operational investment
  • Reviewing emerging risks and building practical annual improvement plans
  • Scheduling and overseeing four-yearly condition assessments to identify asset risks early
  • Progressing projects through concept design, detailed design and construction
  • Preparing accurate, timely reports and keeping stakeholders across emerging issues

What you will bring (the essentials):

  1. Degree qualified – a relevant science degree with suitable experience will also be considered
  2. Qualifications in project management, engineering or construction management (or relevant equivalent)
  3. Extensive experience in the water and/or wastewater industry
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and technical expertise in civil construction
  5. Extensive, demonstrated project management skills
  6. High-level communication, consultative and negotiating skills, both written and verbal
  7. An unrestricted 'C' class driver's licence and a current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)

A tertiary engineering qualification, PMP certification, local government experience and MS Project skills would all be well regarded.

What's on offer: An initial 3-month engagement with a hybrid setup – remote work with travel to the region as required. Council will cover your accommodation while you are on-site, plus travel to and from the North Burnett at the start and end of the contract. Rate is negotiable and we are happy to have that chat based on your experience.

If this sounds like your next move, give Owen Millar a shout on ************ or email *****************. Always happy to chat.
