The Role
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager, Corporate Services is a key leadership position within the finance function and plays an important role supporting the Corporate Services, Investment Management and MAB America divisions. The role is responsible for leading financial reporting, management accounting, taxation, treasury, compliance and operational finance activities, whilst providing commercial support and insights to senior stakeholders across the business.
Managing a small team, you will oversee core financial operations including accounts payable, cash flow management, outsourced payroll and compliance obligations, while driving process improvements and enhancing financial reporting capabilities across the group.
This position provides significant exposure to senior leadership and offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning, investment activities and business performance initiatives.
Financial Reporting & Operations
- Lead month-end and year-end reporting processes across Corporate Services, Investment Management and MAB America divisions.
- Manage annual financial statements, audit requirements, tax reconciliations and statutory reporting obligations.
- Oversee treasury, cash flow management, accounts payable and payroll accounting processes.
- Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors and taxation advisors, including US-based advisors.
- Support group-wide accounting, tax and compliance initiatives.
Management Reporting & Business Partnering
- Prepare regular management reports, forecasts and financial analysis for senior leadership.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes across relevant divisions.
- Provide commercial insights and performance analysis to support decision-making.
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders, including the General Manager Investments, on investment and operational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance, efficiency and reporting capability.
Compliance, Tax & Governance
- Manage indirect tax compliance and reporting obligations.
- Oversee FBT, Payment Times Reporting, TPAR and other regulatory submissions.
- Support AFSL compliance requirements within the Funds Management business.
- Ensure robust controls, governance processes and compliance frameworks are maintained.
- Manage entity rationalisation and dormant company deregistration activities as required.
Treasury & Investments
- Support the management and renewal of debt facilities.
- Assist with investment reporting, cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
- Liaise with external asset managers and review investment-related reporting and budgets.
- Coordinate investment property valuation requirements where required.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of finance professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Drive process optimisation and system enhancements to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards, policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to the broader finance leadership team and organisational objectives.
About You
You are a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional with experience operating in a complex, multi-entity environment. You combine strong financial governance capabilities with the ability to partner effectively with operational and executive stakeholders. You are hands-on when required, highly analytical and comfortable managing a broad portfolio spanning reporting, compliance, treasury and commercial support.
You will bring:
- CA/CPA qualification.
- 7+ years' experience in accounting, finance or commercial finance roles.
- Big 4 or Mid-Tier chartered upbringing viewed favourably
- Strong technical accounting capability combined with commercial acumen.
- Experience leading month-end, year-end and statutory reporting processes.
- Exposure to treasury, cash flow management and taxation compliance.
- Prior people leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor staff.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
- Experience within property, funds management, investments or multi-entity environments will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to financial systems improvement initiatives viewed favourably.
- Experience with Sage Intacct would be advantageous.
