About the Role:
A university client are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in improving Finance reporting, business processes and data-driven decision making.
This is a highly visible role for a BA who can operate confidently across Finance, Operations, Technology and senior stakeholders, translating business needs into practical technology and reporting solutions.
You will take ownership of key Finance improvement initiatives, with a major focus on Power BI dashboards and reporting capability.
A significant new dashboard project has already been scoped, with business requirements and an initial dashboard mock-up established. This role is about taking ownership, engaging the right stakeholders and SMEs, refining the requirements and driving the initiative through to delivery.
You will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, connecting the dots across the organisation rather than waiting for direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business analysis activities across Finance and Operations improvement initiatives.
- Take ownership of the delivery of new Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Engage Finance stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand business needs, pain points and reporting requirements.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable functional and technical requirements.
- Work closely with technical teams, data specialists and developers to ensure reporting solutions meet business expectations.
- Review and refine existing dashboard requirements and mock-ups to support delivery.
- Develop process maps, business requirements, user stories and supporting BA documentation.
About You:
- Strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst in a large, complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions from business requirements through to implementation.
- Strong requirements elicitation, analysis and documentation skills.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability.
- The ability to work independently, identify the right people and drive outcomes without requiring significant direction.
- Experience working with Finance systems, ERP platforms or financial reporting environments.
- Exposure to PeopleSoft Finance, SAP, Oracle or other large-scale ERP platforms.
- Experience with procurement or expense platforms such as Ariba or Concur would be highly advantageous.
