Asset Maintenance Procurement and Contracts Manager

The Asset Maintenance Procurement and Contracts Manager is responsible for the commercial management of contractors, goods and services as required in the delivery of Asset Maintenance at Adelaide and Parafield Airports, and for leading and developing the Facilities Maintenance Contract Coordinator.

•    Lead contract oversight with AAL suppliers to drive desired commercial and operational outcomes.
•    Lead, support and develop the Facilities Maintenance Contract Coordinator by setting clear priorities and expectations, providing regular guidance and feedback, monitoring performance, and supporting capability development and effective delivery of contract administration activities.
•    Lead and manage procurement activities for asset maintenance contract delivery at Adelaide & Parafield Airports.
•    Provide support to the Head of Facilities with management and oversight of the Facilities maintenance budgets, including supporting the wider team in procurement activities.
•    Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute asset maintenance contracts in conjunction with AAL Procurement and Legal.
•    Conduct negotiations on supply arrangements and manage contract discussions to drive value and achieve budget targets.
•    Establish and maintain a robust supplier contracts and governance framework for all contracted spend within the Facilities Maintenance & Asset Management portfolio
•    Develop and maintain a contract renewal program to maximise operational spend held under contract to drive value and consistency to operate within budget.
•    Lead oversight of supplier performance against agreed KPIs to drive value for AAL and achieve desired service levels.
•    Work with the Procurement Manager to plan, program and execute procurement for FM spend, including contract renewals.
•    Identify opportunities to aggregate spend and rationalise supply sources to drive operational efficiency.
•    Work closely with AAL Procurement to analyse supplier pool, capability and suitability for AAL based on known future spend profiles.
•    Ensure maintenance contracts emphasise value, continuity of supply, and risk mitigation.
•    Support the Facilities Maintenance team by actively managing supplier performance and enforcing accountability against contract deliverables.
•    Organise and coordinate regular contractor performance meetings, including tracking key performance and cost metrics.
•    Manage contracts, pricing structures, and commercial terms for nominated suppliers
•    Assist the Facilities Maintenance team in resolving contractor issues and disputes.
•    Identify opportunities for cost reduction, specification optimisation, and supplier rationalisation.
•    Maintain accurate data, pricing, and contracts within ERP and procurement systems.
•    Develop optimal procurement strategies to ensure consistent, high-quality results, in conjunction with AAL Procurement.
•    Ensure modern slavery compliance and sustainable procurement requirements are met.
•    Maintain thorough records of all contract-related correspondence and documentation.
•    Communicate consistently with internal and external stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives and priorities are clearly defined and achieved.
 Qualifications 
Essential 
•    Tertiary qualifications in Commercial and Contracts Management, Supply Chain Management or similar.

Experience 
Essential 
•    Experience with Asset Maintenance procurement activities;
•    Proven contract management capability;
•    Well versed in contractor management; 
•    Experience of working in an operationally focused team;
•    Demonstrated experience leading, supporting and developing a direct report, including setting expectations, prioritising work, providing feedback and managing performance;
•    Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team;
•    Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects with competing timelines;
•    Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability;
•    Capable in stakeholder management
•    Confidence managing escalations, disputes, and complex negotiations

Desirable 
•    Minimum of five years’ experience in similar role
