Full-Time Permanent | Monday–Friday | No Weekends | ASAP Start

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our client’s small and established maintenance team based in Yatala, QLD.

Offering $50–$55 per hour, this is a full-time opportunity working a standard 38-hour week, with up to 8 hours of additional overtime available and no weekend work.

We’re ideally looking for a trade-qualified fitter with 7+ years’ experience and a strong background in manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance who can confidently maintain, troubleshoot and repair a variety of plant and equipment.

Working Hours Enjoy consistent weekday hours with your weekends kept free:

  • Monday–Thursday: 6:30am – 2:30pm
  • Friday: 6:00am – 1:00pm

The Role
As a Maintenance Fitter, you’ll be responsible for helping keep production equipment and plant operating safely, efficiently and reliably.
Working within a small maintenance team, you’ll take a hands-on approach to preventative and breakdown maintenance while troubleshooting mechanical issues and minimising production downtime.
Your responsibilities may include:

  • Planned, preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Responding to breakdowns and production issues
  • Repairing and maintaining manufacturing and production equipment
  • Inspecting plant and identifying potential maintenance requirements
  • Repairing and replacing worn or defective components
  • Supporting equipment reliability and reducing unplanned downtime
  • Completing maintenance documentation and reporting
  • Working closely with production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities
  • Assisting with equipment upgrades and improvements where required
  • Maintaining a safe and organised working environment

Equipment Experience
Previous hands-on experience maintaining and repairing the following will be highly regarded:

  • Compressors
  • Conveyors
  • Hydraulic control systems
  • Pumps
  • Associated manufacturing and production equipment

You don’t necessarily need experience with every piece of equipment listed, but a strong mechanical maintenance background within a production environment is important.

What We’re Looking For
To be considered, you will ideally have:

  • Relevant Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
  • Ideally 7+ years’ experience in mechanical maintenance
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience – highly desirable
  • Strong preventative and breakdown maintenance experience
  • Excellent mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience maintaining industrial plant and equipment
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a small maintenance team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Availability to commence ASAP

Tickets & Additional Experience
Candidates holding any of the following will be highly regarded:

  • Forklift (FL)
  • Working at Heights (WAH)
  • EWP
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience

Supervisory experience would be a strong advantage, particularly for someone who is comfortable providing guidance and sharing their knowledge within a small team.
