Construction Manager - Mechanical

Deliver major mission-critical data centre projects | Lead complex mechanical packagesAn exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to join an international engineering and construction management business delivering large-scale, mission-critical data centre projects. This role will take ownership of the mechanical construction scope, coordinating contractors, consultants and project stakeholders to ensure critical cooling and mechanical infrastructure is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Your new roleAs Construction Manager - Mechanical, you will be responsible for the delivery of major mechanical packages across the project, including:

• Managing mechanical building services installation across major data centre projects
• Overseeing mission-critical cooling infrastructure, HVAC, pipework, mechanical plant and associated systems
• Managing mechanical contractors, specialist subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• Coordinating interfaces between mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural disciplines
• Managing programme, cost and quality across the mechanical works
• Driving construction safety and ensuring works are completed in accordance with project requirements
• Coordinating plant installation, pipework and mechanical services with the wider construction programme
• Reviewing method statements, construction documentation and installation requirements
• Supporting mechanical testing, commissioning, Integrated Systems Testing and handover to operations
• Identifying and resolving construction, coordination and sequencing issues throughout delivery

What you'll need to succeedYou will ideally bring:

• Significant construction management experience across major mechanical or building services projects
• Strong knowledge of mission-critical cooling, HVAC, mechanical plant, pipework and associated systems
• Experience working within data centres, mission-critical infrastructure or similarly complex projects
• Strong mechanical contractor and stakeholder management capability
• Experience coordinating mechanical services within MEP-intensive construction environments
• Experience supporting testing and commissioning of major mechanical systems
• A Mechanical Engineering qualification, relevant technical qualification or strong trade background with progression into construction management
• Strong project management, communication and leadership skills
