Apex B&C Group is a Queensland-licensed construction company servicing Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We undertake a diverse range of projects, including commercial fit-outs and shopfitting, residential renovations and extensions, general building works, structural works, outdoor and landscaping projects, and project management.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Plasterer to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work across residential and commercial construction projects throughout Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Plasterer, your duties will include:

·Reviewing plans, drawings and specifications to determine plastering requirements and required materials.

·Measuring and preparing wall and ceiling areas prior to commencing plastering work.

·Preparing surfaces by cleaning, levelling, repairing and removing old or damaged plaster where required.

·Applying base coats, finishing coats and other plastering materials to walls, ceilings and other surfaces.

·Mixing and preparing plaster, compounds and other materials to the appropriate consistency.

·Installing plasterboard and other lining materials to walls and ceilings as required.

·Measuring, cutting, positioning and fixing plasterboard sheets.

·Installing and finishing internal and external corners, joints, cornices and other plastering components.

·Applying joint compounds, tapes and finishing materials to plasterboard joints.

·Filling holes, cracks and imperfections and producing smooth, even surfaces ready for painting or other finishes.

·Using hand tools and mechanical equipment to apply, level and smooth plaster and finishing compounds.

·Repairing damaged plasterboard, walls, ceilings and existing plastered surfaces.

·Carrying out patching and remedial plastering works associated with renovations and alterations.

·Ensuring finished surfaces meet project specifications and required quality standards.

·Coordinating with builders, supervisors and other trades to ensure works are completed efficiently and according to the construction schedule.

·Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and clean condition.

·Following workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures at all times.

Skills and Experience:

The successful applicant should have:

·At least three (3) years of practical plastering experience within residential and/or commercial construction.

·Experience in surface preparation, plaster application, plasterboard installation, jointing, patching and finishing.

·Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit and finish plasterboard and associated materials.

·Sound knowledge of plastering materials, tools, equipment and application techniques.

·Ability to read and understand construction plans, drawings and specifications.

·Strong attention to detail and commitment to achieving high-quality finishes.

·Good time-management and organisational skills.

·Ability to work independently and as part of a construction team.

·Good communication skills and a reliable, professional attitude.

·Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.

·Physical fitness and ability to perform the manual duties associated with plastering work.

·A valid driver’s licence and the ability to travel to project sites across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
