Accelerate your career within Sydney’s premier Public Law and Government practices. Multiple leading firms are currently seeking high-calibre administrative, statutory, and government advisory lawyers from 1 PQE up to Special Counsel level to steer high-profile state and federal portfolios.

• Applications are highly encouraged from lawyers currently in private practice, in-house government roles, or govt agencies looking to transition.
• ART Advantage: Prior experience navigating, appearing before, or working within the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is highly regarded.
• All Experience Levels Welcomed: Tailored pathways available for Junior Solicitors (1–3 pae), Senior Associates (4–7 pae), and Special Counsel (8+ pae).

 
The Opportunities Available
 
1. Junior to Mid-Level Lawyers (1–4 pae)
You will gain hands-on experience running files under direct Partner mentorship, focusing on merits reviews, drafting statutory advice, and appearing in tribunals like the ART and NCAT.
 
2. Senior Associates (5–7 PQE)
Step into high-autonomy roles. You will manage complex regulatory advice, lead litigation, act as a trusted day-to-day point of contact for key government agencies, and mentor junior solicitors.
 
3. Special Counsel (8+ PQE)
A strategic, technically sophisticated role for market leaders. You will drive practice growth, maintain key stakeholder relationships across government panels, lead high profile and sensitive litigation
 
Key Focus Areas

• Administrative & Statutory Law: Providing sharp, legally robust advice on statutory interpretation, decision-making frameworks, and public sector governance.
• Government Litigation & Review: Acting in public law disputes, judicial reviews, enforcement proceedings, and high-volume ART merits reviews.
• Regulatory & Inquiries: Advising on regulatory compliance, freedom of information (FOI), privacy frameworks, and commissions/inquiries.

About You

• Background: Experience in public law, administrative litigation, or government advisory work. This includes experience gained within a private law firm, a government department/agencyor the ART.
• Skill Set: Exceptional analytical abilities, sharp legal drafting skills, and a deeply collaborative approach to handling sensitive public sector matters.
