About the Role

MEZZ9 Builds is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to support the technical drafting and documentation requirements of its residential and commercial construction projects. The successful candidate will prepare detailed civil and structural drawings, interpret engineering specifications and incorporate technical design information into accurate construction documentation in coordination with relevant engineering and project personnel.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil and structural engineering drawings, plans and technical documentation for residential and commercial building projects.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, design calculations and construction requirements to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Use computer-aided drafting software, including AutoCAD or similar applications, to prepare and modify engineering drawings and layouts.
• Draft structural layouts, footing and foundation details, concrete elements and other building-related engineering components in accordance with approved engineering designs.
• Prepare site-related civil drawings, including levels, grading, drainage layouts and associated infrastructure details where required for construction projects.
• Review architectural plans and engineering documentation to identify dimensional inconsistencies, drafting discrepancies and coordination requirements.
• Incorporate engineering design amendments, consultant feedback and approved construction changes into updated drawings and technical documentation.
• Apply relevant Australian Standards, building regulations and project specifications when preparing civil and structural drafting documentation.
• Undertake drafting-related measurements, dimensional calculations and material quantity assessments to support accurate technical documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, building designers and construction personnel to clarify technical requirements and ensure consistency between drawings.
• Prepare drawing revisions, schedules, technical details and documentation required for engineering review and construction activities.
• Maintain accurate drawing records, revision histories and technical documentation throughout project development and construction.

Candidate Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Drafting, Civil Engineering, Engineering Design or a closely related discipline, preferably an AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or higher.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in civil or structural engineering drafting.
• Demonstrated experience preparing detailed civil and structural drawings for building or construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar computer-aided drafting software.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documentation.
• Sound understanding of structural drafting, foundation details, site layouts and building-related civil works.
• Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards, building regulations and construction documentation requirements.
• Strong technical drawing, measurement and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, designers and construction personnel.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage drafting tasks and meet project deadlines.
