The Business

This well-regarded and long-established firm is part of a national network of accounting and advisory firms. It has more than 70 years of history and offices across Australia and New Zealand. Its wealth business works alongside the firm's accountants, so clients get comprehensive advice on tax, structuring, superannuation and wealth. The firm is entrepreneurial and flexible, and takes a progressive approach to career development. The business is growing and has created two Senior Paraplanner roles to support its advice teams and an expanding client base.

About the Roles

There are two Paraplanner roles. They will support the existing advisers while the business focuses on growth. You'll work on complex, interesting plans and work closely with the external paraplanning team so that every client document is of the highest quality.

Both roles can be permanent or contract. If you prefer contract work, we can discuss a 6-month contract with an immediate start. Contracts may lead to a longer-term role. Senior candidates who can take ownership of technical quality, or mentor others, will be highly regarded.

You will need to:

  • Work with senior advisers and help them deliver high-quality advice
  • Prepare personalised, compliant SoAs and RoAs
  • Review and quality-check plans from the external paraplanning team
  • Help clear the current backlog of plans
  • Build strong relationships with the broader team, the wider group and key stakeholders, including the firm's accountants
  • Develop bespoke strategies and plans, and take ownership of them
  • Work closely with Client Services so the client experience is seamless from start to finish
  • Help keep advice files compliant and audit-ready

About You

You will have:

  • Paraplanning experience and at least several years in wealth management. Senior paraplanners are highly regarded
  • Compliance exposure, such as advice file reviews, best interests duty checks, audit responses or remediation work. This is a real plus
  • Sound working knowledge of XPLAN
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A wish to add value, and the confidence to speak up and challenge the status quo
  • Energy. This is a fast-paced, busy role with clear long-term opportunities

Hybrid working is available once you're settled in the role and have completed the relevant training.
