About the role:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Narromine Site Manager is responsible for managing site operations including Risk Management, Plant Efficiency, People Management, Operator Maintenance and Financial Performance.

The successful applicant will be required to work closely with staff and growers to effectively coordinate day to day activities of our grain receival site.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations in accordance with company policies and procedures, with a strong focus on safety, hygiene, and people engagement.
  • Monitor production and operational outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of operational plans and manage execution at site level.
  • Develop, coach, and support site employees, including both permanent and casual team members.
  • Manage personnel requirements including recruitment, rostering, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with operational and quality standards.
  • Lead a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with growers and key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, responsiveness to operational needs, and a high level of customer service.
  • Engage proactively with growers to coordinate receivals, provide operational updates, resolve issues, and support a positive customer experience throughout the harvest and storage cycle.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar operational leadership or supervisory role.
  • Previous grain industry experience highly regarded.
  • Grain classification experience and knowledge of grain quality standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong grower relationship management and customer service focus.
  • Experience using inventory management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Current driver's licence and demonstrated proficiency operating heavy machinery.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture
