Your new role
We are currently seeking a Parks Maintenance Labourer to join a dedicated team maintaining the Mackay Botanic Gardens and Queens Park. This temporary role offers consistent full-time hours and will see you working in a hands-on outdoor environment.Your duties will include:
- Mowing and whipper snipping
- Hedging and pruning
- Blowing down pathways and public areas
- Watering, planting and mulching garden beds
- Litter collection and general grounds maintenance
- Assisting with event setup and pack down
- Liaising with volunteers and members of the public
- Maintaining the presentation of gardens, parks and open spaces
- Operating gardening equipment and maintenance tools
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in parks maintenance, landscaping, gardening or a similar outdoor roleCurrent Driver's Licence and reliable transportAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsExperience operating grounds maintenance equipmentStrong work ethic and positive attitudeAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamCommitment to workplace health and safetyContactable work referencesWhat you'll get in return
