The Company:

Our client is a leading apparel retailer with both brick and mortar and a strong Ecommerce presence, that is passionate about bringing on-trend product ranges to their customer.
The Planning Manager will work closely with the Head of Merchandise Planning, leading a team of 2 and managing their own categories, to elevate their planning processes and drive them to the next level. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the delivery of merchandise financial plans across budget, reforecast and in-season trade, ensuring accuracy, feasibility and cross-functional alignment
  • Translate strategic direction into clear operational targets for planners across sales, margin, stock and weeks cover
  • Own and embed planning disciplines including forecasting, OTB governance, reporting, assumptions and file control
  • Lead the weekly and monthly trading cadence, validating numbers, interpreting performance and driving clear actions
  • Oversee execution of stock and inventory levers including allocations, PO management, markdown planning and core line lifecycle management
  • Partner with Buying and Product on option planning, post-season reviews and forward-looking insights
  • Drive strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring early escalation of risks and effective execution of trade actions
  • Lead, coach and develop Planners and Allocators through clear expectations, regular 1:1s and constructive feedback
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable and collaborative team culture

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 5–8 years’ experience in Merchandise Planning, leading teams within the apparel sector
• Strong capability across budgeting, forecasting, replanning and OTB management
• Deep understanding of the relationship between sales, margin, stock and trade levers
• Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability; planning or WSSI tools highly regarded
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to make timely, data-informed decisions
• Proven people leadership experience with a coaching mindset
