About Raider Targetry
Raider Targetry is an Australian Defence technology company specialising in the design, manufacture and deployment of advanced targetry and training systems for military live-fire training. We are currently seeking a Field Service Representative with hands-on experience in mechanical engineering to join our Sunshine Coast technical team, working across workshop and field environments.
About the Role
You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, inspecting, testing, maintaining and repairing the mechanical and electro-mechanical systems incorporated into Raider's mobile targetry equipment. The role combines mechanical fault diagnosis, preventative and corrective maintenance, equipment testing and adjustment with field deployment and technical support at Defence training areas and live-fire ranges.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, inspect, maintain and repair mechanical and electro-mechanical targetry systems.
- Diagnose faults and undertake preventative and corrective maintenance, including dismantling, inspecting, repairing or replacing, reassembling and adjusting mechanical components.
- Conduct equipment testing, calibration and performance checks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and maintenance documentation.
- Support the integration and maintenance of electrical and electronic components associated with Raider’s electro-mechanical targetry systems
- Assist Raider's engineering team with equipment testing, modifications and recurring fault identification.
- Deploy and recover mobile target systems and provide technical support and field repairs during Defence exercises, trials and live-fire training.
- Provide equipment familiarisation to Defence personnel and maintain appropriate inspection and service records.
About You
You will ideally have:
- A relevant qualification in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology, mechanical maintenance or a related discipline, and/or substantial relevant industry experience.
- Experience maintaining, diagnosing, repairing and testing mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Strong practical mechanical skills and experience with complex machinery, vehicles, mobile plant, Defence equipment or comparable engineered systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation and use appropriate measuring and diagnostic equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic components associated with electro-mechanical systems.
- Strong practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in workshop and field environments.
- A current driver's licence, willingness to travel and ability to meet applicable Defence security and site-access requirements.
Defence Experience Highly Regarded
