Connect People is seeking experienced Road Workers for opportunities based in Bridgewater, TAS.
Our client delivers essential road maintenance and asphalt works across Tasmania and is looking for reliable, hands-on workers to join their team. We are currently seeking candidates across two positions:
- Spray Seal HR Drivers
- Road Labourers
What's on offer:
• Road Labourer: $37.85 - $38.60/hr + super
• Spray Seal HR Driver: $41.09/hr + super
• Depot start in Bridgewater, predominantly Mon-Fri dayshift
• Overtime and weekend work available depending on project requirements
• Opportunity to work on ongoing road maintenance projects
• Work with an experienced civil crew
Spray Seal HR Driver - What you'll be doing:
• Driving the spray seal truck across road maintenance projects
• Supporting spray seal and asphalt works
• Operating a non-synchronised transmission (crash gearbox)
• Carrying out pre-start checks and ensuring the truck is maintained and kept in good working order
• Cleaning and maintaining the spray seal truck and equipment
• Assisting the crew with labouring duties when not driving
• Working safely around live traffic environments
What you need:
• HR Licence (essential)
• Dangerous Goods Licence (essential)
• Experience driving spray seal trucks highly desirable
• Ability to operate a non-synchronised transmission
• Previous road maintenance, asphalt or civil experience preferred
• Willingness to be hands-on and assist with labouring duties when required
Road Labourers - What you'll be doing:
• Assisting with asphalt and road maintenance works
• Raking and shovelling asphalt
• Supporting spray seal operations
• Assisting with pothole repairs and pavement maintenance
• General civil labouring duties
• Site preparation, clean-up and assisting the wider crew
• Working safely outdoors in various conditions
What you need:
• Previous hands-on experience in civil construction, asphalt or road maintenance
• Asphalt experience highly desirable
• Experience working around live traffic environments preferred
• Medium Rigid (MR) Licence highly desirable
• Physically fit and comfortable performing manual labour
• Reliable, safety-focused and willing to be hands-on
