Practice Nurse

We are seeking a caring, motivated and reliable Practice Nurse to join our busy general practice in Yagoona. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with our General Practitioners and administrative team to provide high-quality nursing care, support preventative health services and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the medical centre.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities and a patient-centred approach to healthcare

• Perform immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with current guidelines and practice protocols.

• Conduct wound care, dressing changes and basic wound assessments.

• Perform health assessments and assist with chronic disease management plans.

• Provide preventative health services, including health promotion and patient education.

• Assist with procedures performed by General Practitioners.

• Perform ECGs, spirometry, blood collection and other clinical procedures where trained and competent.

• Administer medications and injections as authorised and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

• Monitor and maintain emergency equipment and clinical supplies.

• Assist with infection prevention and control, sterilisation and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment.

• Support cervical screening and other screening programs within the nurse’s scope of practice and training.

• Provide patient education regarding immunisations, wound care, health screening and preventative healthcare.

• Assist with iron infusions and other treatments only where appropriately trained, authorised and supported by practice protocols.

Experience in medical practice is essential. We are looking for a nurse to be here for 2-3 days, our clinic hours are 8:30-4:30. Hours are flexibile.
