We are currently recruiting an excellent permanent opportunity for an experienced Generalist Lawyer to join a well-established and highly regarded legal practice in Perth.

This position would suit a commercially minded and client-focused lawyer who enjoys managing a varied caseload and advising individuals, families and businesses across a broad range of legal matters.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' post-admission experience and be capable of managing files with a high degree of autonomy, while working collaboratively with other members of the firm.

The Role

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing practical and commercially focused legal advice to individuals and business clients.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and other legal documents.
  • Advising on business sales and purchases, commercial transactions and corporate matters.
  • Managing residential and commercial property transactions.
  • Advising on leasing, property and contractual disputes.
  • Managing general commercial and civil litigation matters.
  • Preparing court documents, evidence, correspondence and settlement proposals.
  • Representing clients in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings.
  • Preparing wills, powers of attorney and estate-planning documents.
  • Advising on probate, estate administration and estate disputes.
  • Managing matters from initial instructions through to completion.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Assisting with the supervision and mentoring of junior lawyers and support staff.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice.

About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:

  • A minimum of five years' post-admission legal experience.
  • Broad general-practice experience across two or more relevant areas of law.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and legal research skills.
  • Sound commercial judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience managing client relationships and providing clear, accessible legal advice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation and file-management capabilities.
  • The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative, professional and client-focused approach.
