Woods & Co are partnering with a well established high end residential builder delivering both luxury and architecturally focused new builds across Melbourne, with projects reaching $30m+ in value.
They are looking for an experienced Estimator who can take ownership of the estimating process from start to finish and is comfortable working across the commercial side of a project, not just putting take-offs together.
The Role
You'll be involved across the full estimating process, from initial pricing through to contract, working closely with the wider construction and project team to make sure projects are commercially sound and ready to move into construction.
Your day to day will include:
- Completing detailed quantity take-offs and estimating across high end residential projects
- Preparing and reviewing BOQ's, scopes and trade packages
- Obtaining, assessing and negotiating subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Managing purchase orders and procurement
- Preparing and reviewing contracts and variations
- Working through pricing with clients and the sales team
- Reviewing plans, specifications and documentations to identify gaps, risks and opportunities
- Building accurate project budgets and ensuring costs are aligned throughout the process
- Working closely with the construction team to ensure what has been priced is practical and buildable
- Supporting projects through to contract award and handover to construction
About You
We're looking for someone who has strong end to end estimating experience, ideally within high end residential or a similarly complex construction environment.
You'll likely have:
- Solid experience estimating residential construction projects from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of take-offs, BOQ's, procurement, contracts and subcontractor negotiations
- The ability to confidently assess pricing and understand where the numbers need to sit
- Experience dealing directly with clients, trades and suppliers
- A good understanding of construction methodology and what is actually involved in delivering a project
- Strong attention to detail
- The confidence to take ownership of your work and make commercial decisions
- A practical, team focused approach and the ability to work closely with both office and site
