Your new role
As a Senior Hydraulic Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design and documentation of hydraulic services systems across a range of building projects. Working closely with engineers, architects, developers and contractors, you will play a key role in delivering practical and efficient hydraulic design solutions from concept through to construction.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing hydraulic services systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments
Preparing detailed hydraulic design drawings, documentation and specifications
Coordinating hydraulic services with mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural disciplines
Managing project deliverables, deadlines and design quality standards
Liaising with clients, contractors and project stakeholders throughout project delivery
Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards and regulations
Attending project meetings, site inspections and construction support activities
Assisting with mentoring junior designers and contributing to team development
Supporting project managers and engineers to achieve successful project outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Demonstrated experience as a Hydraulic Designer within the Building Services industry
Strong knowledge of hydraulic building services design and coordination
Experience delivering projects from concept design through to construction documentation
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and associated BIM platforms
Strong understanding of Australian Standards, codes and hydraulic design requirements
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong problem-solving and technical coordination capabilities
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
High attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
Highly regarded:
Experience in a Senior Hydraulic Designer or Lead Designer position
Strong client-facing and project coordination experience
BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project exposure
Experience mentoring junior designers or drafters
