Nirayu Disability Servicesis currently seeking to hire a Residential Care Officer who meets the required qualifications and can contribute positively to the organization's values and commitment to high-quality care.

Key Tasks and Responsibility:

  1. Assess residents’ needs on a regular basis and develop, implement and review individualised support plans to ensure appropriate levels of care and services are provided.
  2. Provide daily support and supervision to residents, including those with high physical support needs or challenging behaviours.
  3. Assist with the administration of medications in accordance with individual medication administration records and organisational procedures.
  4. Meet with residents and, where appropriate, their families or carers to identify personal, social and behavioural support needs.
  5. Monitor residents’ wellbeing and progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting outcomes to support ongoing care planning and goal setting.
  6. Refer residents to appropriate welfare, health, advocacy and community services where additional support is required.
  7. Support families and provide care for people with disabilities within residential settings, including group homes and supported accommodation.
  8. Identify and connect residents with community resources related to health, housing, employment, training and social participation.
  9. Maintain accurate case notes, documentation and reports in line with organisational policies and regulatory standards.
  10. Prepare reports and documentation for internal management, funding bodies and relevant government or community agencies where required.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Diploma or higher in a related field with 1-2 years of work experience.

At least three (3) years of relevant experience may be accepted as a substitute for the formal qualification.
