Your new role
As an Electrical / C4I Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, integration, and delivery of Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) systems. You will work across the full engineering lifecycle, contributing to cutting-edge programs involving complex platforms and communications infrastructure.
- Designing, developing, and integrating C4I systems and subsystems
- Supporting system lifecycle activities including requirements, design, integration, verification, and validation
- Producing and reviewing technical documentation (requirements, specifications, test procedures)
- Working across communications architectures including RF systems, networks, and data links
- Supporting integration, testing, and acceptance activities
- Troubleshooting technical issues during development and deployment
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Managing technical risks and ensuring compliance with engineering standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronic Engineering
- 5+ years experience in defence, aerospace, telecommunications, or complex systems engineering
- Experience with communications systems, networks, or RF technologies
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle and integration activities
- Demonstrated experience producing engineering documentation
- Current or previously held Australian Defence security clearance (Baseline minimum, NV1 eligible)
- Experience with Defence C4I or tactical communications systems
- Knowledge of systems engineering standards (e.g. ISO 15288)
- Exposure to network design, cybersecurity, or digital engineering
- Experience supporting field trials or operational deployments
- Chartered or working towards professional accreditation
