Building Surveyor Advisor

Provide Advisory support across a defined portfolio.

Location: Docklands, VICHourly rate: $150 - 165ph
6-week assignment, potential to extend
We are currently partnering with a well-established organisation within the building compliance sector to appoint an experienced Pool Safety Building Advisor for an immediate 6-week contract.This role will support the assessment and accreditation process for pool safety inspectors, contributing to both the development of assessment materials and the evaluation of candidate applications.
About the roleThis is a structured, office-based role where you will play a key part in supporting regulatory assessment processes within the pool safety and building compliance space.Working closely with internal teams, you will leverage your technical knowledge and industry experience to develop assessment content and assist in evaluating candidates seeking pool safety inspector accreditation. This role is ideally suited to someone with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks who is looking to step away from field-based inspection work.
Key responsibilities include: Develop and review assessment questions and materials aligned to pool safety legislation and compliance requirements
Support the assessment of applications for pool safety inspector registration and accreditation
Evaluate candidate responses against defined competency and regulatory frameworks
Apply technical knowledge to ensure assessments are accurate, consistent and aligned with current standards
Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment processes and materials
Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure integrity and quality of outcomes
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical expertise in pool safety compliance, along with the ability to interpret legislation and apply it in an assessment context.
You will demonstrate:MandatoryRelevant Building Inspector or Building Surveyor registration, with exposure to pool safety compliance
MandatoryCertificate IV in Training and Assessment OR a Cert III in Building and Construction may be considered.
Strong knowledge of pool and spa barrier legislation, Australian Standards and regulatory frameworks
Experience in assessing compliance, interpreting regulations and making sound technical decisions
Previous exposure to assessment, auditing, compliance review or training environments is highly regarded
High level attention to detail with strong written and analytical skills
Ability to work in a structured environment and manage deadlines effectively
