Own & Transform FP&A

Company Background

Our client is a highly recognisable Australian brand with a rich history and a loyal customer base. With strong backing, the business is investing in its next phase of growth while modernising finance, reporting and systems. This is a rare opportunity to step into a visible role where your insights will directly support key commercial decisions.

It’s a great role for someone seeking greater autonomy over the FP&A function, who enjoys the operational focus of a local business and has a track record of achievement.

This role provides a fantastic platform for your career, with direct exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, retail, e-commerce, an investment group, and a highly experienced CFO.

The Role

  • Own the annual budgeting process with department heads and channel leaders

  • Deliver quarterly forecasts and ongoing updates to financial expectations

  • Analyse performance vs budget/forecast, investigate variances, and drive actions with stakeholders

  • Review store-level P&L performance across multiple sites; identify trends and opportunities

  • Build and maintain weekly KPI dashboards and management reporting (Power BI focus)

  • Enhance sales/product reporting to improve transparency and decision-making

  • Create and maintain Excel-based financial models for scenario analysis and planning

  • Partner with business unit leaders and manufacturing operations

  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and improve data quality and visibility

  • Support the upcoming ERP implementation

Your Background

This is right for you if you:

  • Have at least 3–4 years’ experience in a broad FP&A role, with responsibility for budgeting, planning and forecasting.

  • Have worked in FMCG, retail, manufacturing or a similar industry.   Experience in an inventory- or stock-intensive sector is essential.

  • Can demonstrate value-adding projects and achievements that you have driven.

  • Have advanced Excel and modelling skills, and ideally Power BI experience.

  • Most importantly, you are a highly articulate communicator who can adapt your style with ease to operations, finance and executive stakeholders.
