Your new role
As a Customer Service Officer, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing professional, responsive and accurate service across multiple channels including phone, email, face-to-face and digital platforms. Working in a fast-paced customer service environment, you will manage a broad range of enquiries, provide information and advice, maintain accurate records and support outstanding service delivery across the organisation.Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing high-volume customer enquiries and requests
  • Providing timely and accurate information to customers
  • Resolving enquiries at first point of contact where possible
  • Recording and updating customer interactions within CRM systems
  • Triaging and escalating complex matters appropriately
  • Supporting front counter operations and cash handling activities
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to achieve positive customer outcomes
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and service enhancements

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous Local Government customer service experience is essential
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume contact centre and/or front counter environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering positive outcomes
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
  • Experience with TechnologyOne, ECM and/or Genesys will be highly regarded
