Senior Claims Opportunity with a leading Government Organisation 12-Month contract, CBD

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Claims Specialist to join a well-established Building Insurance claims team on a 12-month contract.
This role forms part of a broader period of growth within the business, with the team focused on strengthening capability and building an experienced foundation to support future initiatives within the Domestic Building Insurance and Home Warranty environment.
Working with an experienced leadership team, you will manage complex and escalated matters while supporting and guiding the broader claims function. For high-performing individuals, there is strong potential for longer-term opportunities through contract extension or future permanent vacancies.
Your new roleYou will manage a portfolio of complex claims while providing technical guidance and support across the wider team. This role is ideally suited to a seasoned claims professional who can confidently manage difficult situations, provide sound judgement, and build credibility with both internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include: Managing complex and escalated Domestic Building Insurance claims from assessment through to resolution Interpreting and applying policy coverage, legislation and relevant claim frameworks to support fair and defensible outcomes Reviewing complex claims information and determining appropriate claim strategies Supporting less experienced team members through technical guidance and day-to-day mentoring Managing stakeholder relationships across homeowners, builders, legal representatives and service providers Participating in conferences, mediations, dispute resolution processes and hearings where required Assisting with the management of sensitive customer matters and escalations Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, team capability development and claims process enhancements Delivering a professional, empathetic and customer-focused approach at all times
What you'll need to succeedThe organisation is open to candidates from a range of insurance, construction, legal and dispute resolution backgrounds. While Domestic Building Insurance experience is highly regarded, it is not essential. Candidates with relevant transferable experience will be strongly considered.
You may be successful in this role if you bring experience in areas such as: Property, Building, or Construction Claims, Home Warranty Claims, Loss Adjusting, Construction Law, Insurance Litigation, Building Disputes, Regulatory Investigations, or Complex Case Management.
You will ideally bring: Experience managing complex claims, disputes or case matters within a regulated environment Strong analytical and decision-making capability The ability to assess complex information and reach balanced, defensible outcomes Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Confidence managing difficult conversations, negotiations and escalations Experience interpreting policy, legislation, contracts or regulatory frameworks
