Your new role
As a Structural Engineer within the Asset Management team, you will provide technical expertise to support the structural integrity, reliability, and performance of critical operational assets. Working closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering stakeholders, you will identify, assess, and manage structural risks while supporting maintenance and capital improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting structural assessments, inspections, and integrity evaluations of fixed plant assets.
  • Identifying structural defects and supporting remediation and reliability improvement programmes.
  • Providing engineering support for maintenance, operational, and capital works activities.
  • Reviewing structural designs, modifications, and Management of Change (MoC) documentation.
  • Supporting risk-based decision-making and asset management strategies.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards and engineering best practice.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve asset performance and life cycle outcomes.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and defect elimination programmes.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership, with progression towards Professional Engineer registration viewed favourably.
  • Experience within mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, manufacturing, energy, or similar operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles, asset integrity, and structural assessment methodologies.
  • Experience supporting maintenance, brownfield, or capital project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Australian Standards, structural inspections, defect analysis, and remediation programmes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to work effectively across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
