Leading Hand | Townsville RAAF Base | FT

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Leading Hand Cleaner to join our ESS business. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll support the daily cleaning operations while guiding a small team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety and service across the base. 

Role Location:

• RAAF Base Townsville

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Leading and coordinating day-to-day cleaning activities across accommodation, offices and common areas 

• Providing hands-on cleaning support while monitoring quality, safety and service standards. 

• Ensuring equipment, chemicals and storage areas are maintained and compliant.

• Coaching and supporting team members to meet daily schedules and site expectations. 

• Liaising with supervisors, contractors and Defence stakeholders when required. 

• Upholding site-specific hygiene, security, and safety procedures. 

What we’re looking for: 

• Previous experience in cleaning, housekeeping or facilities services (leadership experience highly regarded) 

• Strong communication skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team 

• A commitment to safety, compliance, and delivering high service standards. 

• Reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required. 

• Ability to obtain and maintain National Police Check and Defence clearance. 

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory for this role.
