What You’ll Be Doing
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Operating and managing our modern milking facilities and machinery.
- Tracking and recording crucial daily data, keeping a close watch on milk vat temperatures and livestock headcounts.
- Detecting and promptly reporting any machinery malfunctions, as well as tackling routine maintenance and equipment adjustments.
- Undertaking various dairy farm tasks, including safely operating farm machinery to deliver top-quality results.
- Resolving day-to-day problems and making informed decisions within farm guidelines
- Using standard measurement tools accurately and applying your knowledge of farming concepts to assist with processes like machinery repair, artificial insemination, and fertilizer mix design.
- Navigating our computer-based farm management systems with confidence.
- Maintaining a strong focus on farm safety and consistently applying safe working practices.
- Working cooperatively with team members, contributing to daily farm operations and assisting colleagues when required.
- Working efficiently and independently when required, including at times without direct supervision.
Who We Are Looking For
- Practical, hands-on experience and/or formal qualifications in dairy or livestock operations will be highly regarded.
- A versatile worker who who can work effectively both as part of a team and independently
- Excellent time-management abilities paired with a sharp eye for detail.
- The physical capacity to undertake the practical and active nature of dairy farm work.
