About

Our client is a well-established public practice accounting firm based in Sydney CBD. They work with a loyal base of family groups and related entities, and are known for a supportive, collegiate culture where senior staff are given real autonomy over their client work rather than being micromanaged.

Position Overview
This is a senior role for an experienced public practice accountant ready to run client work independently. You'll manage the full cycle of tax compliance and financial reporting for a varied portfolio, including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals, with particular exposure to family group structures. You'll be trusted to gather information, prepare the work and see it through to completion with minimal oversight, while also identifying tax planning opportunities and researching more complex tax issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • CA qualified (preferred) or CPA qualified
  • 5 to 7 years' experience in a public practice accounting firm
  • Strong experience in Australian tax compliance, tax return preparation and financial accounts preparation
  • Experience managing family groups and related entities
  • Ability to manage client work independently, from gathering information through to completion
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards

Day to day, you'll prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships, complete BAS and IAS, process payroll, manage tax compliance for family groups, and prepare annual financial statements and special purpose reports, along with year end reconciliations and supporting workpapers.

Benefits

  • Package up to $115,000 per annum
  • Autonomy over your own client portfolio in a firm that backs senior staff to run their own work
  • A genuine, supportive career pathway in a collegiate Sydney CBD practice
