DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles.
- Inspect engines and mechanical/electrical components to accurately diagnose issues.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and filter replacements.
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or faulty components such as brakes, suspension systems, and exhaust systems.
- Carry out major repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and electrical system repairs.
- Test vehicle systems after repairs or maintenance to ensure correct functionality.
- Conduct test drives to verify the effectiveness and safety of completed repairs.
- Follow all workplace safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Adhere to proper procedures for handling hazardous materials and waste.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed, including parts used and services completed.
- Communicate with customers to understand vehicle issues, provide repair estimates, and explain repair procedures and recommendations clearly and professionally.
Appropriate candidate must have the following skills, education and experience:
Education : Certificate III or Certificate IV or Diploma
Australian Experience : At least 3 + years of Australian Experience OR
Overseas Experience : At least 3+ years of Overseas Experience
Specialist : General Motor Mechanic
