Commercial Lawyer 3-4 PAE

Our client is a well-established Perth law firm with a strong reputation across commercial, corporate and transactional work. It takes on matters typically associated with larger practices, while keeping the culture of a firm that knows its people. Partners are accessible and invested in their teams, and the firm has a track record of producing lawyers who go on to build serious careers.
The firm prioritises quality over volume, and that shows in how work is resourced and how junior lawyers are developed. Lawyers here get transactional and advisory carriage early, rather than sitting on the periphery of matters for years.
Due to continued growth, they’re now looking for a Commercial Lawyer to join the team, working closely with two senior lawyers well regarded in the Perth market for the quality of their work and for being invested mentors. You’ll get hands-on exposure and development from people who want to see you succeed.
This is front-end commercial work: advisory, drafting, contracts and transactions. No litigation, no compliance-only roles. You’ll be doing this work from day one, with direct client exposure built into the role rather than something you wait years for.

- 33%+ incentive bonus on billings above target. Target is 3x salary, so once you’re over that, the upside is significant

What you’ll be doing:
- Commercial advisory work across a broad range of matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Supporting transactions from start to finish
- Direct client contact, not a back-office drafting role
- Working alongside partners who bring you into matters
What we’re looking for:
- 3-4 years PAE in commercial law (2+ years with the right experience will also be considered)
- Solid grounding in commercial advisory work, contract drafting and negotiation
- Strong drafting and advisory skills, with the initiative to run with things rather than wait for instruction
- A practical, commercial mindset
- Confidence in client-facing situations and strong communication skills
