We're seeking a proactive and organised Workshop Controller to join a busy, multi-franchise automotive dealership in Port Hedland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading workshop operations, supporting technicians, and ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining high-quality standards.
About the Role
As the Workshop Controller, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the workshop, working closely with the Service Manager to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
You'll coordinate workshop workflow, support technicians, maintain quality control, and help deliver an outstanding experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise daily workshop operations
- Allocate and monitor repair and service jobs to maximise workshop efficiency
- Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time and meet quality standards
- Assist technicians with technical support and problem-solving when required
- Conduct quality inspections and road tests where necessary
- Liaise with service advisors, parts department, warranty staff, and management
- Monitor workshop productivity, carry-over jobs, and workshop housekeeping
- Maintain stock levels of workshop consumables and equipment
- Foster a positive, safety-focused team culture
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in an automotive workshop leadership role such as Workshop Controller, Foreman, Leading Hand or Senior Technician
- Strong knowledge of automotive servicing and repair operations
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- The ability to lead, motivate and support a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- A current Australian Driver's Licence
- Trade qualifications (highly regarded)
