Hand Packager and Assembler

PERSOL is currently seeking reliable and motivated Hand Packagers & Assemblers to join a leading manufacturing business based in St Agnes, South Australia. This is a temporary role offering stable hours and the chance to work with a well-established organisation.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Thursday: 6:30am - 3:00pm
• Friday: 6:30am - 1:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain product for packing and verify it is correct according to work sheet.
• Use Standard Operating Procedure to set up scales to weigh and count product.
• Pack product into correct sized and labeled bags and cartons using Standard Packaging Procedures.
• Seal and label cartons and record contents and operator on carton.
• Check weight of completed carton and affix correct address label.
• Sort filled cartons into appropriate shipping or inventory site.
• Pack non standard selections of product according to worksheet.
• Check materials, products and cartons at each step of packaging process.
• Operate hand machines for assembly of product.
• Operate semi automatic machines for assembly of product.
• Operate automatic machines for assembly of product.
• Assemble complex product by hand according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform Quality Inspection on in house assembled products.
• Use test equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures
• Keep work environment tidy.

Education and/or Experience

High school education; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of organisation.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Reasoning Ability

· Ability to solve practical problems

· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations

A current Australian Driver's License. Forklift License is an advantage.
