First Step provides a uniquely multi-disciplinary team of General Practitioners, Registered Nurses, therapists, lawyers and care coordinators all of whom have decades of experience in addiction, mental health and legal services. www.firststep.org.au.

Our model of care is designed to address the systemic barriers faced by people with co-occurring illnesses including mental ill-health and prioritises welcome, empathy and hope.

Join a highly experienced and collegiate team of GPs with decades of expertise in general practice, mental health, and addiction medicine. Our doctors are passionate about delivering integrated, person-centred care to people experiencing mental ill-health and substance dependence. You will work within a genuinely collaborative multidisciplinary team, with access to and support from: Psychology Mental Health Nursing, Nurse practitioners, Care co-ordination, Addiction medicine specialist, Group Psychoeducation and Recovery Programs, An Accredited Community Legal Centre.

You will have the opportunity to build trusted, long-term relationships with patients and provide continuity of care across all stages of their care. We support GPs to develop their own areas of clinical interest while maintaining the autonomy to practise medicine in a way that aligns with their professional values.

You will also be supported by an exceptional nursing and administrative team who are committed to ensuring clinicians can focus on providing high-quality patient care. Their experience, and dedication create an efficient, supportive, and enjoyable working environment.
