A hands on Cyber Security Analyst from a Microsoft environment

Hays are engaged by a purpose-led brand within the NSW Government, who are hiring a mid-senior level security analyst to join their Cyber team.This hire is an 80% hands-on technical role, where you are responsible for the day-to-day operation and configuration of the clients cybersecurity tools. The successful incumbent will support the Head of Cyber in detection, response and vulnerability management. 20% of the role will be focused on aligning to governance frameworks as and when needed.
Key responsibilities:

Security operations and detection (SIEM Sentinel, EDR, XDR)Vulnerability management Security administration (Microsoft ecosystem, M365 stack)

Essential experience:5 years of hands-on experience in IT operations and 3 specifically in a technical cybersecurity role.Exposure to Microsoft technologiesExperience and knowledge of Essential Eight and ISM controls within Microsoft Azure & M365 environmentAbility to investigate and respond to security events.This role gives the opportunity to be autonomous in configuration, but with the guidance and support of a Head of Cyber. You will get exposure to some of the latest tooling stack, Artificial intelligence and get ownership of project-based activities.
