The Role:

As a Cook, you will be working within our Food and Beverage team to support the Executive Chef, to ensure all employees deliver high standard of service for our customers. The responsibilities are not limited to:

  • To embrace all Touches of Hyatt and the Food and Beverage Top 20 and ensure its implementation.
  • To respond to the results of the Consumer Audit and ensure the relevant changes are implemented.
  • To ensure that all dishes from the section are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
  • To assist the Senior chefs in ensuring those culinary standards comply with Company and Hotel Policies and Procedures and Minimum Standards.
  • To monitor food and operating costs by reducing wastage.
  • To work in any section of the kitchen when necessary or as requested by the Chef de Cuisine or the kitchen brigade.
  • To become familiar with all sections of the kitchen to facilitate the flexible use of employees.
  • To ensure that kitchen and operating equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.

Qualifications

About you: 

  • Certificate of Hospitality IV
  • A current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage your time  
  • The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
