The Role:

We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team as part of the continued growth of our estimating team. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, supporting the sales team, and working closely with clients and internal staff to deliver accurate project outcomes.

·Examining architectural drawings, technical specifications and project documentation to determine scope and cost estimation requirements.

·Measuring quantities and preparing detailed material take-offs and cost calculations covering labour, materials, equipment and subcontracted works.

·Preparing and submitting project quotations and tender proposals reflecting accurate project costs and company pricing strategies.

·Collecting and evaluating pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive, realistic estimates.

·Maintaining and updating internal cost data, including material prices, labour rates and installation costs.

·Assessing project risks, technical constraints and construction requirements, and incorporating appropriate allowances into estimates.

·Working closely with project managers, designers and installation teams to clarify requirements and support planning and scheduling.

·Reviewing project specifications and building requirements to ensure estimates reflect applicable construction standards.

·Providing estimating documentation and cost reports to support project planning, budgeting and delivery.

·Contributing to cost-efficiency initiatives by identifying alternative materials, methods or design adjustments.

Requirements - capabilities and competencies:

·A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Practice, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or higher qualification.

·At least 1 year relevant work experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably within the architectural partition systems, doors and operable wall industry, or a similar construction or building-related sector.

·Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.

·Ability to read and interpret drawings, building plans, building regulations and codes of practice

·Conferring with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates

·Calculating costs and estimating time scales

·Analysing blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost materials and labour estimates

·Assessing cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual cost relative to bids as project develops

·Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures

·Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
