Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced draftsperson to join our small in-house technical team. You will prepare the working drawings and construction documentation that our site teams rely on to deliver each residential project, turning design information and survey data into accurate, buildable drawing sets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Site plans & footing layouts: Prepare site plans, footing layouts and slab-on-ground details for residential projects based on provided design information.
2. Piling & underpinning drawings: Prepare piling layout drawings, pile schedules and underpinning details from design drawings, and coordinate setout levels and pile positions as required.
3. Concrete & steel frame documentation: Prepare concrete pour drawings (edge beams, suspended slabs, step-down footings) and steel frame structuring drawings covering member sizes, base plates and connection details.
4. Roofing, brickwork & finish drawings: Prepare roof plans, brickwork elevations with window/door openings, and internal plastering/rendering and painting finish schedules.
5. CAD drafting & revision control: Produce, revise and manage all 2D working drawings in AutoCAD (or equivalent), and maintain drawing revision control across concurrent projects.
6. Building permit packages: Compile the drawing and tabulation package for building permit applications and certifier submissions.
7. Site cross-check & as-builts: Visit site as required to cross-check built works against issued drawings, record variances, and produce as-built drawings for project handover.
8. Drawing coordination: Resolve drawing and constructability queries and ensure drawing sets are consistent and constructible before work commences on site.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of full-time experience working as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson or comparable drafting role, preferably within residential building & construction.
- Hands-on proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable 2D drafting software.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and civil engineering design drawings.
