    Our client is a multidisciplinary allied health practice based in Woolloongabba, dedicated to helping children, teenagers and young people overcome everyday challenges and achieve goals that are meaningful to them.

    Their approach is individualised, strength-based, family-centred and neuroaffirming, with therapy tailored to each young person’s unique needs, strengths and interests. The team works collaboratively with families, schools, healthcare professionals and other support networks to provide holistic care.

    The practice supports clients referred through hospitals, paediatricians, GPs, schools, childcare centres, walk-ins and the NDIS. They see a diverse range of presentations, with a strong paediatric focus including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory needs and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).

    About the role:

    We are seeking a Child Psychologist to join our client’s team on a flexible contractor basis, supporting children and young people with a broad range of emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.

    This is a hybrid position, with the practice based in Woolloongabba and flexibility around how services are delivered.

    You will work with children and young people to:

    • Conduct psychological assessments and develop individualised therapy plans
    • Support emotional regulation, resilience and coping skills
    • Assist with anxiety and stress management
    • Address behavioural challenges and promote positive self-regulation
    • Develop social skills and confidence
    • Support children through change and life transitions
    • Build self-esteem and emotional wellbeing
    • Work collaboratively with parents, families, schools and other professionals
    • Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to each child’s needs
    • Contribute to a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to care

    You may work with a range of presentations, including ASD, ADHD, anxiety, behavioural challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, developmental differences and other paediatric mental health and wellbeing concerns.

    Requirements:

    • Relevant qualifications in Psychology
    • Current registration with AHPRA and appropriate professional registration/endorsements
    • Experience working with children and young people is highly regarded
    • Experience with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, emotional regulation or behavioural presentations is advantageous
    • A strong understanding of evidence-based psychological interventions
    • Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary professionals
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • A compassionate, child-centred and neuroaffirming approach
    • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team
