We are currently seeking an experienced Building Associate to join our team working across Queensland.
Position Summary
The Building Associate is responsible for supervising and coordinating civil construction activities, including site personnel, subcontractors, materials and equipment. The role also includes hands-on operation of construction plant and machinery as required to support project works and maintain productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily civil construction activities and site personnel.
- Allocate tasks and provide direction to employees and subcontractors.
- Coordinate labour, materials, plant and equipment required.
- Operate excavators, dozers, skid steers, dump trucks and other plant.
- Undertake earthworks, grading, trimming, excavation, drainage and site preparation works.
- Interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications and site levels.
- Monitor construction progress, quality and project timeframes.
- Conduct site inspections and identify construction issues or defects.
- Maintain daily site records and provide progress updates to management.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with WHS, environmental and quality requirements.
- Assist with planning and sequencing of construction activities.
- Provide practical guidance and support to site personnel and plant operators.
- Participate in pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site meetings.
Skills & Experience:
- 1+ year of demonstrated experience supervising civil construction activities.
- Experience operating a range of civil construction plant and machinery.
- Ability to interpret construction plans, drawings and levels.
- Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, grading and site preparation.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
A salary of $90,000 - $110,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
