Biotech Downstream Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Supervisor (Biotech Downstream) to join the Biotechnology Manufacturing Facility team in Broadmeadows. Reporting to the Senior Manager Downstream, this role will provide operational leadership and technical expertise to support the manufacture of recombinant protein Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
This is an ongoing permanent opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise Manufacturing Associates and Manufacturing Assistants to deliver operational objectives.
Plan and execute routine manufacturing activities for recombinant protein APIs.
Support equipment commissioning, validation, and re-validation activities.
Participate in technology transfer activities for new products and manufacturing processes.
Ensure compliance with cGxP, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
Lead investigations of production deviations and implement corrective actions.
Review production documentation and ensure adherence to good documentation practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.
About You
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical/Process Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.
Experience in cGxP regulated manufacturing or food production environments.
Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, process operations, and quality systems.
Demonstrated leadership and people management capability.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, organisational, and communication skills.
A proactive approach with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
