At Avina, we're a national allied health and behaviour support organisation with 400+ clinicians supporting communities across South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

We deliver Positive Behaviour Support, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology and other allied health services across the lifespan.

Our values guide how we work:
Progressive | Curious | Respectful | Collaborative | Informed | Purposeful

About the Role We're looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Port Pirie team, supporting participants across Port Pirie and surrounding communities.

We're open to Core, Proficient, Advanced and Specialist Practitioners who are currently considered suitable by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

You'll work across home, school, community and telehealth settings, generally supporting participants within around 30 minutes of Port Pirie, with opportunities to cluster clients in Port Augusta where required.

Our caseload is predominantly paediatric and youth, with a smaller adult component, covering a broad range of presentations and support needs.
Regional Doesn't Mean Working Alone You'll be part of a small, collaborative local team with experience across Positive Behaviour Support and Occupational Therapy, while also having access to clinicians and specialist knowledge across our wider SA and national network.

You'll have regular supervision, weekly team connection and plenty of opportunity to ask questions, discuss complex cases and share ideas with other clinicians.

We also have clinicians who travel into our regional locations through DIDO/FIFO arrangements, bringing additional opportunities for face-to-face collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Depending on team and business needs, there may also be opportunities for you to support other regional SA communities through DIDO/FIFO arrangements, with travel and accommodation covered by Avina.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver evidence-informed, person-centred Positive Behaviour Support
  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop Behaviour Support Plans
  • Support participants, families and stakeholders to implement meaningful strategies
  • Work across a varied caseload, predominantly paediatric and youth
  • Collaborate with OT and the broader multidisciplinary team
  • Manage your own schedule with flexibility and autonomy
  • Participate in regular supervision, peer collaboration and professional development

What We Offer

  • Regular clinical supervision and support
  • Small, connected local team with weekly team meetings
  • Access to Avina's wider SA and national clinical network
  • Shadowing, mentoring and peer learning opportunities
  • Flexible working arrangements and autonomy over your day
  • Achievable KPIs supporting sustainable workloads
  • Ongoing professional development and career progression
  • DIDO/FIFO opportunities, with travel and accommodation covered where applicable
  • The resources of a national organisation with genuine regional team connection

What You'll Bring

  • Current NDIS Commission suitability at Core level or above
  • Experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the NDIS
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A collaborative, curious and person-centred approach
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
  • Driver's licence and reliable vehicle for community work
  • Full working rights in Australia

If you're looking for the autonomy and community connection of regional practice without losing access to clinical support and a wider professional network, we'd love to hear from you.
