Associate Director - Operational Risk Advisory

Organisations are operating in an increasingly complex environment, with evolving expectations around governance, data usage and the adoption of digital tools within core business processes.

We’re working with a leading advisory organisation in Sydney to appoint an experienced professional into its Operational Risk Advisory team.

This is a senior, front office-aligned role working with financial services and advisory clients to strengthen governance, uplift risk frameworks and support how risk is managed across client-facing environments.

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across business, legal and compliance, with a focus on evolving areas such as data usage, digital tools and AI within core workflows.

The Role

• Design and uplift governance and risk frameworks
• Assess risks across business processes, including data and AI-enabled workflows
• Partner with front office teams to embed practical controls
• Translate regulatory expectations into business-aligned processes
• Provide oversight and challenge on key processes and client outputs

About You

• 6–12 years’ experience in operational risk, risk advisory, internal audit or compliance (financial services)
• Strong understanding of governance and controls frameworks
• Exposure to front office or advisory environments
• Commercial mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
