About the role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our Sydney team, who will manage a portfolio of clients, while supporting Partners across business performance, corporate advisory, structuring, wealth and asset protection engagements. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client relationships, review complex compliance work, and mentor junior team members in a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Assist Partners with business performance, tax advisory, corporate advisory, structuring, wealth and asset protection engagements.

  • Provide tax advice and consulting services relevant to business owners, wealthy families and their investment structures

  • Manage a designated client portfolio, including scoping client requirements and overseeing delivery.

  • Set budgets and delivery timelines, manage fees and out-of-scope requirements.

  • Supervise, coach and delegate work to junior team members.

  • Review financial statements and tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and SMSFs.

  • Support business development activities through networking and identifying opportunities to add value to clients.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree and completion of CA or CPA qualifications.

  • Approximately 6+ years’ experience within an Australian Chartered or CPA accounting firm.

  • Chartered Tax Adviser, Masters of Tax or studying towards these qualifications would be highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and leading complex engagements.

  • Strong technical knowledge across Division 7A, GST, CGT, FBT and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds.

  • Experience coaching staff and managing workflow and priorities across a team.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, build trusted relationships and deliver outstanding client service.
