Your new company
An exciting opportunity is available with a WA State Government organisation for an Asset Accounting Officer to join a professional finance team. Based in Perth, this role offers the chance to contribute to the financial management of major infrastructure projects while working with key stakeholders across the business.

Your new role
Reporting into the finance function, you will play a key role in the capitalisation and accounting of infrastructure assets. You will work closely with project managers to analyse project costs, review financial data, and support the accurate recording of completed capital works projects.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse completed infrastructure projects and prepare asset capitalisation documentation.
  • Liaise with Project Managers to obtain and validate project and road infrastructure information.
  • Review and analyse project financial data within the Oracle Projects Module and asset capitalisation systems.
  • Prepare project and general ledger journals.
  • Generate financial reports and assist with asset accounting activities.
  • Support the integrity and accuracy of financial records relating to capital projects.
  • Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies through analysis and stakeholder engagement.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong data analysis capability.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle ERP will be highly regarded.
